Tom Strawson se rend au Badminton Horse Trials avec un ancien cheval de course bon marché

Le cavalier amateur Tom Strawson s'apprête à faire ses débuts cinq étoiles au Badminton Horse Trials ce printemps avec Public Address, un ancien cheval de course reconverti qu'il a acheté à bas prix. L'homme de 37 ans concilie un travail à temps plein dans l'immobilier avec la pratique du point-to-point et la chasse à courre.

Tom Strawson, ancien jockey champion de la région des Midlands, montera Public Address, surnommé Brian, lors du Badminton Horse Trials prévu du 6 au 10 mars. Il a terminé 21e avec ce cheval au Burghley Horse Trials l'année dernière. Strawson a remporté le Harborough Ride ce printemps et travaille à temps plein dans l'immobilier tout en poursuivant le concours complet, l'une de ses nombreuses passions.

Britain’s Tom McEwen secured third place in the five-star dressage at the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event with a score of 25.1. Elizabeth Barratt claimed third in the Cosequin Lexington CCI4*-S class scoring 29.7. Both riders praised their horses after tests on 24 April.

American rider Boyd Martin has pulled out of next month's Mars Badminton Horse Trials with his horse Miks Master C after it came up sore at a recent event. The 14-year-old gelding owned by OHP Hammertime Partners had been a podium contender. British pairs Selina Milnes on Cooley Snapchat and Harry Mutch on Shanbeg Cooley have also withdrawn.
