Yoko Taro déplore l'abandon des supports physiques par Sony

Le réalisateur de NieR: Automata, Yoko Taro, a exprimé sa tristesse face à la décision de Sony de mettre fin à la production de supports physiques pour ses consoles PlayStation. Cette mesure, annoncée il y a trois semaines, sera pleinement effective avec la génération PS6 en 2028.

Taro a partagé ses réflexions sur X après avoir reçu une copie physique de Hi-Fi Rush. Il a exhorté les fans à acheter les éditions physiques tant qu'elles restent disponibles. "Personnellement, je ne peux m'empêcher d'être triste face à la disparition des supports physiques, mais j'imagine que c'est simplement le cours du temps", a écrit Taro. Il s'attendait à ce que Sony réserve les copies physiques à des éditions collector haut de gamme plutôt que de les supprimer totalement. Le développeur a souligné que la distribution physique constituait un avantage par rapport à des plateformes comme Steam. Sony n'a pas fait d'autres commentaires depuis son billet de blog initial sur ce changement.
