Ducati launches second-generation DesertX adventure bike

Ducati has introduced the second-generation DesertX, an updated version of its popular adventure motorcycle. The bike features a new engine, enhanced suspension, and a starting price of £14,995 for early orders. These revisions aim to improve off-road performance and overall usability.

Ducati has launched its second-generation DesertX, bringing several updates to the adventure bike originally popular among riders seeking versatility on and off the road.

The new model is powered by an 890cc V2 twin-cylinder engine, already in use across Ducati’s latest motorcycle range. This engine delivers 108.5bhp. Gearbox revisions include shorter initial gears to aid off-road riding and control, while a longer sixth gear enhances fuel economy for extended travel.

Complementing the engine is an 18-litre fuel tank with a slimmer profile compared to the previous version. The airbox has been repositioned, allowing easier access to the air filter for cleaning and removal after off-road use.

Braking is handled by a full Brembo system, featuring 305mm discs and monobloc calipers as standard. Ducati notes that this setup enables the fitting of a high-level front mudguard without additional modifications.

The bike’s foundation is a new monocoque frame, which Ducati states ‘guarantees better off-road performance’. Suspension includes a rear system offering improved support and softer responses, paired with a Kayaba adjustable fork at the front. It rolls on a 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel, fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally Street tyres for all-round capability. Riders opting for more aggressive off-road use can select alternative tyres from the Pirelli Scorpion range.

Available at a special launch price of £14,995 for orders placed before June 30, 2026, the DesertX targets adventure enthusiasts looking for refined performance.
