The setting moves to a warped Manhattan structured in unique zones, avoiding a full open world. Content focuses on quality: main campaign (Dylan's Journey), self-contained World Quests, puzzles, exploration, and secrets. "Less is more," Kasurinen noted, to prevent overwhelming maps. Players can customize Dylan's clothing and hairstyle anytime.

New FBC agent Zoe De Vera acts as Dylan's handler, forming the emotional core. A Firewatch-inspired dialogue system offers permanent choices during movement but leads to one cohesive ending. "There is no way of going back... we are not doing multiple different endings."

Control Resonant targets 60 FPS on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, with Mac support on Steam and App Store. Release is slated for 2026.
