Ford Performance director Mark Rushbrook has voiced support for a potential V8 engine comeback in Formula 1. The comments come amid ongoing talks about future regulations that could shift away from heavy electrification.
Ford's stance aligns with recent statements from F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem. Domenicali noted during the April break that future rules may favor a V8 running on sustainable fuels with a smaller electrical component. Ben Sulayem stated in Miami that a V8 return is only a matter of time, with a target of 2031 or possibly earlier.
