Battlefield Studios will overhaul the gunplay in Battlefield 6 starting 30 June to make it feel closer to Battlefield 4. The final update for Season 3 will adjust weapon recoil, muzzle velocity and damage multipliers across all weapons.
The changes aim to make recoil more predictable while encouraging players to pace shots at longer ranges. Sub-machine guns will excel in close combat, light-machine guns will focus on suppression, and assault rifles will serve as versatile options.
Damage multipliers will also shift so that limbs and the lower torso deal less damage than the chest. This adjustment seeks to lower average time-to-kill without affecting the fastest possible kills in close quarters.
The updates have already been tested by Battlefield Labs players. They will coincide with a new limited-time event that includes a mechanic similar to one from Call of Duty: Ghosts.
