The Colombian Federation of Logistics Agents in International Trade (Fitac) has warned of persistent failures in the platforms of the National Tax and Customs Directorate (Dian) disrupting foreign trade operations in Colombia. The issues began on December 27 after maintenance and continue despite the Dian's announcement of normalization on January 2, 2026.
Fitac reported intermittences, blockages, and delays in the Dian's systems since late December. According to the federation, these failures exceed routine issues and disrupt the logistical flow of foreign trade. Miguel Ángel Espinosa, Fitac's president, urged the Dian to resolve the crisis affecting imports.
The federation documented the problems and notified the agency with evidence of their impact on processes. While the Dian acknowledged the situation and instructed operators to register a Single Point of Technological Solutions (PST) for each error, Fitac deemed it inadequate for a systemic issue. The group argued that it creates a disproportionate administrative burden.
Fitac voiced concerns over potential worsening of failures on non-working days with reduced staff availability. It described the situation as a force majeure event preventing timely fulfillment of customs obligations without agent negligence. The federation requested fundamental fixes to the technological infrastructure and special contingency protocols.
The group reiterated its role as intermediary with the Dian to push for general measures and expressed confidence in institutional decisions to restore smooth Colombian foreign trade operations.
