지난해 말 기준 한국 등록 인구의 39.4%가 토지를 소유한 것으로 나타났다. 소유자 수는 늘었으나 총 면적은 줄었다.
국토교통부 자료에 따르면 2025년 말 기준 2,012만 명이 토지를 보유했다. 이는 전년 대비 47만 명 증가한 수치다.
보유 토지 총면적은 4만 6,127제곱킬로미터로 0.3% 감소했다. 60대가 30%로 가장 높은 소유 비율을 보였고 70대 22%, 50대 20.5%가 뒤를 이었다.
남성이 전체 토지 소유자의 54.3%를 차지했으며 여성은 45.7%였다. 여성의 토지 소유 비율은 2022년 이후 꾸준히 상승하고 있다. 법인 소유 면적은 0.8% 증가했으나 비법인 단체 소유는 변동이 없었다.
