Profeco demands clear BTS ticket prices from Ticketmaster in Mexico

Mexico's Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) has received over 4,700 complaints from BTS fans over lack of ticket price information. The agency urged Ticketmaster and Ocesa to publish full details before presale. The South Korean band's concerts are scheduled for May 2026 at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City.

Mexico's Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) stepped in amid complaints from thousands of BTS fans, known as ARMY, demanding transparency in ticket sales for the group's concerts in Mexico. From January 15 to 18, Profeco logged 4,746 consumer requests and emails seeking intervention due to the lack of official information from Ticketmaster.

Profeco head Iván Escalante confirmed during President Claudia Sheinbaum's morning briefing that the agency had already reached out to Ticketmaster via the Concilia Exprés system, which enables direct communication. “We got in touch with the provider from the start,” Escalante stated. Profeco also plans to meet with fans who held a peaceful march on January 19 to its offices in Mexico City's Doctores neighborhood.

In an official statement, Profeco urged Ocesa to provide clear and truthful information, including full ticket prices, additional fees, sales conditions, details on dynamic pricing, and VIP packages. It also requested data on presale ARMY tickets and general sale availability. Fans, via accounts like @btsmexicoborahaeworld, called the march demanding “clear map and prices before presale and NO to dynamic pricing”.

Ticketmaster released the seating map on Sunday night, confirming a 360-degree circular stage with all assigned seats and no general standing areas. Prices will be revealed during the virtual queue on presale day. In other countries, such as South Korea, they range from 2,392 to 3,189 Mexican pesos; in Japan, up to 5,042 pesos for VIP.

The performances are part of the BTS World Tour 2026, scheduled for May 7, 9, and 10 at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City. The 79-show tour across 34 cities begins April 9 in Goyang, South Korea, and accompanies the album Arirang, releasing March 20, 2026.
