쑨둥 국장은 화요일 KTH 왕립공과대학교, 카롤린스카 연구소, 웁살라 대학교를 방문했다. 그는 이들 대학이 특히 생명과학 및 생명공학 분야에서 홍콩과 협력하는 데 지대한 관심을 보였다고 전했다. 그는 이들 기관이 InnoHK(홍콩 혁신 플랫폼)와 설립 예정인 생명·보건 기술 연구소와 같은 홍콩의 플랫폼을 활용하도록 제안했다. 또한 다수의 스웨덴 스타트업이 홍콩에서 자금을 조달하고 중국 시장으로 진출하기를 원하고 있다고 덧붙였다. 이번 방문은 쑨둥 국장이 취임 후 북유럽을 찾은 첫 공식 일정이었다. 면담에서는 디지털화와 에너지 분야를 비롯해 교육, 기술, 산업의 융합 방안이 논의됐다. 그는 다음 일정으로 핀란드 헬싱키를 방문할 예정이다.
