Volvo has officially revealed the EX60, a new all-electric midsize SUV offering up to 400 miles of EPA range and advanced AI features. The vehicle comes in multiple powertrain variants, starting production in April 2026 at around $60,000. It incorporates cutting-edge hardware from Nvidia and Qualcomm, along with Google's Gemini AI assistant.

Volvo Cars unveiled its latest electric vehicle, the EX60, on January 21, 2026, following a teaser campaign. This midsize, two-row SUV slots alongside the popular XC60 and targets families with configurations including rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options.

The entry-level EX60 P6 features a single rear motor delivering 369 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque, powered by an 80 kWh net battery (83 kWh gross). It achieves 310 miles of EPA range on 20-inch wheels, with charging up to 320 kW enabling a 10-80 percent top-up in 18 minutes. The dual-motor P10 AWD ups power to 503 hp and 524 lb-ft with a 91 kWh net battery (95 kWh gross), offering 320 miles range and 370 kW charging, also in 18 minutes. The top P12 AWD boasts 670 hp and 583 lb-ft from a 112 kWh net battery (117 kWh gross), reaching 400 miles range and charging in 19 minutes at 370 kW. All models are limited to 112 mph and include a built-in NACS port for the US market.

A surprise addition is the EX60 Cross Country, with a 0.8-inch lifted suspension (plus optional air springs for another 0.8 inch), wider track, and protective cladding for light off-road use. It matches the P10 and P12 powertrains but sees a slight range reduction, such as 300 miles for the P10 on 21-inch wheels.

"The new, all-electric EX60 changes the game in terms of range, charging, and price," said CEO Håkan Samuelsson. The vehicle uses Volvo's SPA3 platform with gigacasting for a lower carbon footprint and cell-to-pack batteries for efficiency. Powered by Qualcomm for infotainment and Nvidia for safety systems, it integrates Google's Gemini AI, accessible via a 15-inch OLED screen, without LiDAR sensors.

Production begins in April 2026 with P6 and P10 models in Plus and Ultra trims, followed by the P12 and a Core trim later. Pricing starts around $60,000 for a well-equipped P10 Plus, positioning it against rivals like the BMW iX3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC.
