Governo argentino anuncia reator nuclear com investimento privado de US$ 1,2 bilhão em Atucha

O governo nacional anunciou a construção de um reator nuclear modular no complexo de Atucha com financiamento privado dos EUA.

O anúncio foi feito no dia 2 de julho no Ministério da Economia. Participaram o ministro Luis Caputo, o secretário de Assuntos Nucleares Federico Ramos Nápoli e o CEO da Meitner Energy, Teófilo Lacroze.

O projeto envolve o ACR-300, um pequeno reator modular de 300 megawatts com tecnologia PWR desenvolvida por engenheiros argentinos. A construção levará cerca de cinco anos e gerará em torno de 2.000 empregos diretos.

A Meitner Energy, vinculada ao Ansari Group, financiará integralmente a usina. A Nucleoeléctrica Argentina poderá, posteriormente, assumir sua operação e manutenção.
