Camisa do Athletic Club gera polêmica por mapa de Euskal Herria

O Athletic Club estreará seu novo uniforme no próximo sábado no Bernabéu. A camisa traz um mapa de Euskal Herria que inclui Navarra e gerou críticas de partidos de direita de Navarra.

O Athletic Club apresentou esta semana o uniforme que usará na próxima temporada. O design inclui sete listras vermelhas representando as províncias de Euskal Herria e um mapa na parte de trás da gola que substitui a pequena ikurriña anterior.

A presidente da UPN, Cristina Ibarrola, enviou cartas ao presidente da Real Federación Española de Fútbol, Rafael Louzán, ao presidente do Athletic, Jon Uriarte, e à presidente de Navarra, María Chivite. Ibarrola solicita a remoção do mapa por considerar que ele projeta uma concepção territorial controversa que coloca Navarra dentro de uma realidade alheia ao seu quadro institucional.

O governo de Navarra respondeu que os símbolos oficiais não estão comprometidos porque o Athletic é uma entidade privada. O primeiro vice-presidente, Javier Remírez, declarou que cabe à própria instituição reivindicar seus emblemas.
