La nueva camiseta del Athletic genera polémica por el mapa de Euskal Herria

El Athletic Club estrenará su nueva equipación el próximo sábado en el Bernabéu. La camiseta incluye un mapa de Euskal Herria que incorpora Navarra y ha provocado críticas de la derecha navarra.

El Athletic Club presentó esta semana la equipación que utilizará la próxima temporada. El diseño incorpora siete franjas rojas que representan las provincias de Euskal Herria y un mapa en la parte trasera del cuello que sustituye a la mini ikurriña anterior.

La presidenta de Unión del Pueblo Navarro, Cristina Ibarrola, ha enviado cartas al presidente de la Real Federación Española de Fútbol, Rafael Louzán, al presidente del Athletic, Jon Uriarte, y a la presidenta de Navarra, María Chivite. Ibarrola pide la retirada del mapa porque considera que proyecta una concepción territorial controvertida que incluye Navarra en una realidad ajena a su marco institucional.

El Gobierno de Navarra ha respondido que no se ven comprometidos los símbolos oficiales porque el Athletic es una entidad privada. El vicepresidente primero Javier Remírez afirmó que corresponde a la institución reivindicar sus propios emblemas.
