The incident occurred on Wednesday involving Cathay Pacific flight CX918 from Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport to Hong Kong. During taxi for departure, the aircraft made incorrect use of a taxiway, a spokesman said.
As a precaution, Manila Air Traffic Control asked two incoming planes to hold their landing to clear the way. The traffic control tower later cleared CX918 to enter the runway again and depart for Hong Kong.
“At no time was the safety of passengers or crew compromised. Cathay Pacific is conducting a thorough investigation and is cooperating fully with the relevant authorities,” the spokesperson added. The airline announced on Thursday that it was working with local authorities on the probe.
