Congresso abre sessão extraordinária para revisar reformas judiciais

O Congresso mexicano prepara-se para uma sessão extraordinária a partir de terça-feira, 26 de maio, para discutir reformas no sistema de justiça enviadas pela presidente Claudia Sheinbaum.

A presidente do Senado, Laura Itzel Castillo Juárez, anunciou que a Sessão do Congresso Geral instalará o Primeiro Período Extraordinário na terça-feira, 26 de maio. A Câmara dos Deputados atuará como casa de origem e o Senado como casa revisora.

O pacote principal inclui uma reforma constitucional para adiar a segunda eleição judicial federal e local de 2027 para 2028. Uma reforma à Lei Geral de Instituições e Procedimentos Eleitorais também será analisada para criar um órgão dentro do INE que revise a integridade dos candidatos nomeados pelos partidos.

Além disso, ambas as câmaras discutirão iniciativas para estabelecer a interferência estrangeira comprovada como motivo para nulidade eleitoral. O período extraordinário coincide com a Assembleia Parlamentar Euro-Latino-Americana, que será realizada no Senado de 26 a 28 de maio.
