Gachagua retira alegações de parcialidade contra juízes do Tribunal Superior

O ex-vice-presidente queniano Rigathi Gachagua retirou as alegações de parcialidade contra três juízes do Tribunal Superior. A medida, descrita em um comunicado de 4 de maio de 2026, redireciona os esforços para o processo principal que contesta a sua destituição do cargo.

A disputa começou em outubro de 2024, quando a vice-presidente do Supremo Tribunal, Philomena Mwilu, constituiu o painel. O Tribunal de Apelação decidiu posteriormente que ela não tinha autoridade sob o Artigo 165(4) da Constituição, o que levou a presidente do Supremo Tribunal, Martha Koome, a reconstituí-lo adequadamente.

Gachagua agora quer que todos os esforços sejam direcionados ao processo principal que está sendo julgado no Tribunal Superior em Milimani, Nairóbi.
