Paris inaugura exposição em homenagem a Sebastião Salgado

A prefeitura de Paris inaugurou uma exposição gratuita reunindo cerca de 200 fotografias do fotógrafo brasileiro Sebastião Salgado, falecido em maio de 2025 aos 81 anos. Curada por sua companheira Lélia Wanick Salgado, a mostra percorre fases de sua carreira, destacando temas como migração, trabalho, desigualdade e preservação ambiental.

Sebastião Salgado, um dos maiores nomes da fotografia documental mundial nascido em 1944 em Minas Gerais, recebeu uma homenagem póstuma na cidade onde escolheu morar: Paris. A exposição, aberta ao público gratuitamente, apresenta imagens em preto e branco que marcam sua estética única e seu compromisso com questões sociais e ambientais.

Lélia Wanick Salgado, que introduziu o economista à fotografia nos anos 1970 em Paris – para onde o casal se mudou após deixar o Brasil durante a ditadura militar –, assumiu a curadoria. A mostra aborda projetos como o Instituto Terra, iniciativa de reflorestamento criada por Salgado e sua família para recuperar áreas desmatadas.

Ao longo de décadas, Salgado documentou realidades duras globalmente, com o objetivo de fomentar reflexão e mudanças. A exposição permanece em cartaz até maio de 2026, reforçando seu legado humanista.
