Rains expected in Metro Manila and other areas on July 20

Metro Manila and parts of the Philippines are forecast to see isolated rain showers and thunderstorms on Monday due to the southwest monsoon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the habagat will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas and Lanao del Norte.

PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio stated in Filipino that the southwest monsoon will continue to affect the country for the next two to three days. The agency is not monitoring any low-pressure area in the next 24 hours.

No gale warning is in effect, but fishermen are advised to remain cautious of possible thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening.
