Two key officials at the Commission on Audit reported lower net worth in 2025 based on their latest statements of assets, liabilities and net worth. The documents were obtained from the Office of the Ombudsman.
Chairman Gamaliel Cordoba’s net worth fell by 22.265 million pesos to 74.514 million pesos. The drop resulted from excluding properties he had inherited or received as donations. He still listed the same ten properties but counted only those he acquired himself.
Commissioner Mario Lipana declared a net worth of 23.53 million pesos, three million pesos less than the previous year. His cash holdings rose to 35 million pesos, yet he also recorded a 20 million peso loan as a liability.
Lipana remains under investigation by the Ombudsman. The inquiry follows revelations during a House hearing in September 2025 about his wife’s contracts with the Department of Public Works and Highways for flood control projects.
