Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said the government is intensifying efforts to build trust with the business community through tangible facilitation measures, as part of modernising Egypt’s tax system and expanding the tax base. He made the remarks during an inspection tour of the first premium tax services centre in New Cairo.
Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk conducted an inspection tour of the first premium tax services centre in New Cairo, where he met staff and reviewed operational readiness ahead of the official launch.
"We are working diligently to deliver on our commitments. Taxpayers must feel they are receiving VIP-level service," Kouchouk said. He added that each taxpayer will be assigned a dedicated profile to complete required data using information from the e-invoice and e-receipt systems, urging staff to avoid requesting existing documents and to simplify procedures via digital solutions.
The minister highlighted strengthening electronic communication channels, including chatbots, call centres, and customer platforms for rapid support. Rasha Abdel Aal, Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority, said certain tax services will be delegated to eTax for the first time, with centres staffed by highly trained personnel.
Ibrahim Sarhan, Chairperson of eFinance for Financial and Digital Investments Group, noted that service quality will be measured by taxpayer satisfaction levels, with business feedback aiding development. Khaled Abdelghany, CEO of eTax, described the centres as a qualitative leap, offering advanced services via a mobile app for selecting, submitting, tracking requests, and booking appointments to expand the tax base voluntarily.
