Dalarnas unga jägare minskar trots stark jaktkultur

En analys från Naturvårdsverket visar att antalet jägare i Dalarna sjunker, särskilt bland unga. Utvecklingen följer en nationell trend trots regionens starka jakttradition.

Mellan 2015 och 2025 minskade antalet jaktkortslösare i Dalarna med 12 procent. Andelen sjönk från 6,0 procent år 2005 till 4,5 procent år 2024. För unga upp till 29 år rasade andelen från 11,0 procent till 7,6 procent mellan 2017 och 2025.

Rasmus Söderberg, ungdomsansvarig i Jägareförbundet vid Falu Jaktvårdskrets, bekräftar trenden. Han säger att få unga kommer in i jakten utan familjeband och att sociala medier bidrar till en felaktig bild.

Dalarna har ändå landets starkaste jaktkultur enligt statistiken. 51 procent ser jakt som viktig tradition jämfört med 36 procent i riket. Endast 9,5 procent jagar främst i andra län.

För att vända utvecklingen arrangerar Jägareförbundet provverksamhet med viltvård och skjutning för ungdomar.
