Mwanaharakati Francis Awino amewasilisha kesi katika Mahakama Kuu ya Kiambu kupinga uhalali wa mfumo mpya wa ufadhili wa huduma za afya ukiwemo Mamlaka ya Afya ya Kijamii.

Awino anahoji kuwa shughuli kama makato ya michango, uchakataji wa madai ya matibabu na usimamizi wa mafao zinafanywa bila kufuata sheria na uwazi unaohitajika.

Anasema shughuli hizo ni sawa na biashara ya bima na zinahitaji idhini ya moja kwa moja ya sheria. Wahusika katika kesi ni pamoja na Wizara ya Afya, Hazina ya Kitaifa, SHA, Mamlaka ya Afya ya Kidijitali, Tume ya Utumishi wa Umma na Tume ya Huduma kwa Walimu.

Jaji Bahati Mwamuye ameagiza wahusika wote kuwasilisha stakabadhi zao kufikia Mei 8, 2026 na majibu yao kabla ya Mei 22, 2026. Kesi hiyo itatajwa tena Juni 9, 2026 kwa maelekezo zaidi. Awino pia anaomba amri za kusimamisha utekelezaji wa mfumo huo hadi kesi itakaposikizwa.
