Waziri Chirchir anaanzisha timu kuchunguza ajali za ndege za Kenya nchini Somalia na Sudan Kusini

Waziri Mkuu wa Barabara na Usafiri, Davis Chirchir, ametengeneza timu maalum ya kuchunguza ajali za ndege za Kenya nchini Somalia na Sudan Kusini. Tume hii imetangazwa tarehe 24 Aprili chini ya Sheria ya Usafiri wa Anga. Timu inaangazia ripoti za miaka mitano iliyopita na kutoa mapendekezo ya usalama.

Tume ya Uchunguzi wa Ajali za Ndege imetengenezwa na CS Davis Chirchir kupitia tangazo rasmi la tarehe 24 Aprili. Katibu huyo alitumia mamlaka yake chini ya Sheria ya Usafiri wa Anga, Cap. 394, kusema: “IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 53 (4) of the Civil Aviation Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport establishes the Aircraft Accident Investigation Team.”

Kwa mwenyekiti Captain Peter Maranga, na Co-Chairperson Fredrick Kabunge, Vice-Chairperson Engineer Fredrick Aggrey Opot. Wanachama wengine ni Captain Nduati Herman Njama, Retired Lieutenant Colonel Mike Mulwa, Ephantus Kamau, Captain Valentine Wendoh, na James Mwangi. Katibu Washirika ni Brenda Mwango, Mathias Ombasa, na Albert Mwangeka.

Mamlaka ya timu ni kukagua ripoti za awali za ajali tangu miaka mitano iliyopita zinazohusu ndege zilizosajiliwa au kusimamiwa na Kenya kutoka Somalia na Sudan Kusini. Watafanya uchunguzi, wakichunguza data, wakifanya mahojiano, na kuongeza wataalamu kama inahitajika.

Timu hii inakuja baada ya ajali kadhaa, kama ile ya Machi 2025 karibu na Mogadishu ambapo wafanyakazi watano wa Kenya walikufa, na nyingine Novemba 2025 Sudan Kusini. Timu ina mwezi mmoja kuu ili kuwasilisha ripoti na mapendekezo kwa CS.
