EACC itafungulia mashtaka maafisa walihusika na fidia ya Ksh1.5 bilioni ya ardhi Ruaraka

Tume ya Maadili na Kupambana na Ufisadi (EACC) imetangaza mipango ya kurejesha Ksh1.5 bilioni na kufufua mashtaka ya jinai kuhusu fidia ya ardhi iliyotolewa kwa makampuni mawili.

Uamuzi huu unafuatia hukumu ya Mahakama ya Rufaa iliyothibitisha kuwa fidia hiyo ilikuwa kinyume cha sheria kwani ardhi hiyo ni mali ya umma. Ardhi hiyo ya ekari 13.5 inakaliwa na Shule ya Upili ya Ruaraka na Shule ya Msingi ya Drive Inn.

Katika taarifa yake, EACC ilisema uchunguzi wake ulithibitisha kuwa ardhi ilikuwa imekwisha kuachwa kwa serikali chini ya mpango wa kugawanya ardhi. Makampuni yalipokea Ksh1.5 bilioni na yalitaka Ksh1.769 bilioni zaidi.

Faili ya uchunguzi iliwasilishwa kwa Mkurugenzi wa Mashtaka ya Umma mnamo Februari 2025 lakini iliahirishwa hadi rufaa ikamilike. EACC itawasilisha tena faili hiyo na kuwafungulia mashtaka wanaohusika. Tume pia imeitaka Wizara ya Elimu na Tume ya Ardhi ya Kitaifa kutoa hati za umiliki.
