Wakazi wa Eastleigh wanasikitisha na kutoa aleya ya saa 24 baada ya utekaji nyara wa tano

Wakazi na wafanyabiashara wa Eastleigh wameandamana Aprili 2, wakitaka Shukri Hassan, mfanyabiashara aliyetekwa nyara, aachiliwe ndani ya saa 24. Mzee wa miaka 33 alichukuliwa na watu wenye silaha Machi 28. Hii ni tukio la tano la utekaji nyara katika eneo hilo kwa mwezi uliopita.

Wakazi na wafanyabiashara katika kitongoji cha Eastleigh, Nairobi, wameandamana barabarani Alhamisi, Aprili 2, kufuatia utekaji nyara unaodaiwa wa mfanyabiashara Shukri Hassan, mwenye umri wa miaka 33. Wanaoandamana wametoa aleya ya saa 24 kwa mamlaka, wakihimiza achiliwe mara moja na kuchukuliwa hatua dhidi ya visa vya kutoweka vinavyoongezeka.

Hassan alichukuliwa jioni ya Jumamosi, Machi 28, katika Fedha Estate ndani ya eneo la Pipeline. Wanafamilia wamesema watu wenye silaha waliovaa nguo za kawaida walimuduvi na kumuduvi kwenye gari la Prado nyeusi, tukio lililotekwa na kamera za CCTV.

Mwanafamilia mmoja alisema kwa huzuni, “Hatumjui yuko wapi. Tunaumia kutafutane. Nani alemchukua baba wa watoto wangu? Tunataka haki.” Wanafamilia wameshasafiri polisi na maghumbi Nairobi bila kupata habari, na ishara ya simu yake ya mwisho ilipatikana Runda.

Wanaoandamana wimesema kama Hassan anashukiwa kosa lolote, achukuliwe mahakamani. Mmoja wao alisema, “Kama kuna kesi dhidi yake, ampe mahakamani kujibu sheria. Tunataka tu kujua yuko wapi.”

Waziri Mkuu wa Mambo Ndani Kipchumba Murkomen ametangaza kuwa Idara ya Uchunguzi wa Jinai (DCI) imeunda timu maalum kuchunguza visa vya utekaji nyara. “DCI inafanya uchunguzi wenye nguvu juu ya malalamiko yote na utekaji nyara unaodaiwa Eastleigh,” alisema. Murkomen aliongeza kuwa baadhi ya visa vinahusiana na raia wasio wa Kenya ambao wamefukuzwa nchi.
