Barabara za Nairobi zitakabiliwa na usumbufu wa trafiki wakati wa mkutano wa Afrika

Serikali ya Kenya imeonya madereva kuhusu usumbufu mkubwa wa trafiki utakaoanza wiki ijayo wakati Nairobi inajiandaa kuandaa mkutano wa Africa Forward Summit 2026.

Msemaji wa serikali Isaac Mwaura alitangaza Ijumaa kwamba harakati za watu muhimu sana zitathiri barabara kuu kati ya Mei 10 na 12. Barabara zinazotarajiwa kuathirika ni pamoja na Mombasa Road, Lang’ata Road, Thika Road, Limuru Road na Kiambu Road.

Sehemu za biashara katikati ya jiji zitafungwa kuanzia usiku wa manane Mei 11. Barabara kama City Hall Way, Parliament Road, Harambee Avenue na Taifa Road zitakuwa wazi kwa magari ya mkutano pekee yanayoelekea Kenyatta International Convention Centre.

Mkutano huo utaandaliwa pamoja na Rais William Ruto na Rais wa Ufaransa Emmanuel Macron kuanzia Mei 11 hadi 12. Zaidi ya wakuu 30 wa nchi za Afrika wanatarajiwa kuhudhuria.

Wakati huo huo, Kenya National Highways Authority ilifunga sehemu ya Uhuru Highway usiku wa Ijumaa kwa ajili ya matengenezo, na kusababisha msongamano mkubwa.
