A new performance mod for Bloodborne will enable 120 FPS gameplay on PlayStation 5 hardware. The mod requires a jailbroken or unpatched console running older firmware.
According to Digital Foundry, modder Christina has developed a frame-rate unlock patch that lets Bloodborne run at a consistent 120 FPS on modified PlayStation 5 consoles. The game can also reach native 4K resolution with the mod, though this option locks the frame rate at 30 FPS.
The mod builds on existing options for higher frame rates. Players have used the ShadPS4 emulator on PC for 120 FPS, while jailbroken PlayStation 4 consoles support 60 FPS. The PlayStation 5's backwards compatibility makes the higher performance possible on Sony hardware for the first time.
Christina's mod is not yet available. Digital Foundry reports that the patches will be released shortly, but they will only work on modded PlayStation 5 systems.
