Bel Coelho launches Floresta na Boca in São Paulo

Chef Bel Coelho will launch the book Floresta na Boca on Monday (1st) at the Megafauna do Copan bookstore in central São Paulo. The work results from an expedition to Pará at the beginning of this year, investigating Amazonian cuisine and its producers. At the event, she will debate the topic with illustrator Marina Aranha and ecologist Jerônimo Villas-Bôas, moderated by writer Neide Rigo.

Chef Bel Coelho, renowned for her innovative approach to Brazilian gastronomy, will present her new book Floresta na Boca, published by Fósforo, at an event in the Megafauna bookstore, located in the Copan building in central São Paulo. The launch is scheduled for Monday, December 1, 2025.

The book stems from an expedition conducted by Bel at the beginning of 2025 through the state of Pará, where she explored the rich Amazonian cuisine and met local producers. The work highlights ingredients and sustainable practices from the Amazon biome, with illustrations and art direction by Marina Aranha.

At the event, Bel Coelho and Marina Aranha will debate the topic with ecologist Jerônimo Villas-Bôas, an expert in the environment. The moderation will be handled by writer Neide Rigo, who will bring perspectives on food and culture. This initiative underscores the growing interest in gastronomy linked to environmental preservation and the valorization of regional producers in the Amazon, a Brazilian biome essential for global biodiversity.

Mônica Bergamo's column in Folha de S.Paulo highlighted the project as a bridge between cuisine, ecology, and art, emphasizing its relevance amid discussions on sustainability.
