وجهت رئيسة القضاء مارثا كومي بنقل مطالبات الإصابات الشخصية الناتجة عن حوادث الطرق من محاكم الدعاوى الصغيرة إلى محاكم الصلح في جميع أنحاء كينيا.

تهدف هذه الخطوة، التي تم الإعلان عنها في إشعار رسمي، إلى تحسين الكفاءة وتعزيز الوصول إلى العدالة في ظل العدد الكبير من هذه القضايا في نظام محاكم الدعاوى الصغيرة. صرحت كومي يوم السبت 9 مايو أن هذه التوجيهات ستعزز الوضوح لجميع الكينيين، وستستمر جميع القضايا المحالة من مرحلتها الحالية، مع بقاء الأوامر الصادرة بالفعل سارية المفعول. ستتولى محاكم الصلح معالجة هذه القضايا على أساس الأولوية، كما يجوز للقضاة من محاكم الدعاوى الصغيرة مواصلة مهامهم بصفتهم الجديدة كقضاة صلح. بالنسبة للأحكام الصادرة قبل 22 يناير 2026، يمكن استخراج المراسيم من أي من المحكمتين، وستقوم المحاكم المستلمة بتوفير محاضر مطبوعة عند الحاجة لضمان استمرارية الإجراءات.
