Armin Mueller-Stahl mit Goldenem Ochsen für Lebenswerk geehrt

Der Schauspieler Armin Mueller-Stahl ist am Samstagabend vom Filmkunstfest Mecklenburg-Vorpommern mit dem Ehrenpreis Goldener Ochse ausgezeichnet worden. Ministerpräsidentin Manuela Schwesig überreichte dem 95-Jährigen den Preis.

Schwesig würdigte Mueller-Stahls Karriereweg von den Stränden Mecklenburg-Vorpommerns bis nach Hollywood. Sie hob hervor, dass ein Film von 1956 bereits am Strand von Ahrenshoop gedreht worden sei. In der DDR habe er in DEFA-Filmen mitgewirkt und gegen die Ausbürgerung von Wolf Biermann unterschrieben.

1980 siedelte Mueller-Stahl in den Westen über und etablierte sich in Hollywood. Er erhielt eine Oscar-Nominierung für den Film Shine. Trotz internationaler Erfolge spielte er weiter in deutschen Produktionen wie Die Manns - Ein Jahrhundertroman mit.

Zwei Ausstellungen in Schwerin zeigen noch bis Ende Mai sein malerisches Werk. Der ausgebildete Konzertgeiger ist auch als Musiker aufgetreten.
