Konsta Helenius stößt für die Weltmeisterschaft zum finnischen Kader

Der zwanzigjährige Stürmer Konsta Helenius reist in die Schweiz, um sich dem finnischen Kader bei der Weltmeisterschaft anzuschließen. Er ersetzt seinen verletzten Teamkollegen Teuvo Teräväinen, nachdem die Buffalo Sabres aus den Stanley-Cup-Playoffs ausgeschieden sind.

Der finnische Eishockeyverband gab am Dienstag bekannt, dass Helenius direkt von Buffalo nach Zürich fliegen wird, um dort zur Mannschaft zu stoßen. Der junge Stürmer spielte in dieser Saison in der AHL, wo er in 63 Spielen 63 Punkte erzielte, und kam zudem in neun Spielen der NHL-Hauptrunde sowie vier Playoff-Partien für die Sabres zum Einsatz.
