Die Red Hot Chili Peppers haben ihren Musikkatalog für eine Summe von mehr als 300 Millionen US-Dollar an die Warner Music Group verkauft. Mit der Transaktion erhält das Label die Kontrolle über alle Master-Aufnahmen des bisherigen Gesamtwerks der Band.

Der Deal wurde am Freitag abgeschlossen und umfasst die 13 Studioalben der Band, einschließlich der Veröffentlichungen seit 1991, als die Gruppe bei Warner unter Vertrag ging. Der Katalog erwirtschaftet jährlich etwa 26 Millionen US-Dollar und war mit einem Angebotspreis von fast 350 Millionen US-Dollar auf dem Markt.
