A man in his 40s faces multiple charges after police discovered a remote-controlled pipe bomb in his home in Flen Municipality.
The trial against the man begins on Tuesday. He is suspected of gross violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods, preparation for public dangerous destruction, and attempted arson.
Police arrested the man during an operation in April after receiving an alarm about him. He refused to leave his residence and the regional intervention force was called in before he could be detained. During the search, the pipe bomb was found in a bookshelf.
The man denies the crimes. A paragraph 7 investigation has shown that it can be suspected he suffers from a serious mental disorder and may have suffered from it at the time of the crime.
