North Korean leader Kim Jong-un met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Pyongyang on April 10, the last day of Wang's two-day visit that began with talks alongside Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui. Kim stressed Pyongyang's top priority on DPRK-China friendly relations centered on socialism, calling for intensified exchanges amid geopolitical tensions. South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed North Korea launched an unidentified projectile from the Pyongyang area on Tuesday. The projectile, believed fired in the morning, apparently failed shortly after. The launch came a day after President Lee Jae-myung expressed regret over drone flights by South Korean individuals into the North.

South Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) will advance the deployment of a homegrown Low-Altitude Missile Defense (LAMD) system, akin to Israel's Iron Dome, by two years to 2029 to counter North Korean long-range artillery threats.
