Huila reporta tasas de mortalidad superiores al promedio nacional en 2024

El departamento del Huila registró en 2024 tasas de mortalidad entre un 16% y un 29% superiores al promedio nacional, según un informe de la Asociación Colombiana de Empresas de Medicina Integral.

El boletín Salud en Cifras, publicado el 23 de mayo de 2026, analizó datos del sector salud entre 2015 y 2024. El Huila se ubica junto a Guaviare, Risaralda y Quindío entre los departamentos con mayor mortalidad, impulsada principalmente por infartos, homicidios y enfermedades cerebrovasculares.

En vacunación, el Huila muestra coberturas intermedias. La tercera dosis de pentavalente en menores de un año queda por debajo del promedio nacional del 91,6%, lejos de la meta del 95%. La cobertura contra el virus del papiloma humano alcanza el 54,7% en niñas y el 44,7% en niños.

El informe también señala un aumento del 166,8% en problemas de salud mental en la última década y un incremento del 78,5% en casos de cáncer entre 2015 y 2024.
