Disminuyen las emisiones de dióxido de azufre del volcán Taal

El volcán Taal emitió 129 toneladas métricas de dióxido de azufre en las últimas 24 horas, una cifra inferior a las 289 toneladas diarias registradas en días recientes, según el PHIVOLCS.

La cifra más reciente se mantiene por encima del mínimo diario del año de 59 toneladas métricas registrado el 14 de julio. El PHIVOLCS también detectó tres sismos volcánicos y dos episodios de temblores volcánicos con una duración de entre cuatro y 480 minutos. El volcán permanece bajo el Nivel de Alerta 1, lo que indica la posibilidad de erupciones repentinas causadas por vapor y emisiones peligrosas de gases. No se observó afloramiento de fluidos calientes en el lago del cráter principal ni se detectó esmog volcánico. La entrada a la isla del volcán Taal sigue prohibida y se recomienda a las aeronaves evitar la zona del cráter.
