Inihayag ng 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division ng Philippine Army na magho-host sila ng digital at social media summit na nakatuon sa paglaban sa misinformation at pagpapalakas ng tiwala ng publiko.
Mangyayari ang inaugural event bukas hanggang Huwebes, kung saan makikilahok ang mga social media managers at public information officers mula sa Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, local government units, at partner agencies. Layunin nitong mapahusay ang koordinasyon at kakayahan sa umuusbong na digital environment.
Binigyang-diin ni Col. Francisco Molina, assistant chief of staff for civil-military operations ng Philippine Army, ang mahalagang papel ng government communicators sa pagbibigay ng facts sa publiko. "In today’s digital environment, the fight does not stop on the ground, but in the minds of the people. As government communicators, our role is to ensure that truth remains stronger than misinformation, disinformation and malinformation and that our message is not only heard, but trusted," ani Maj. Ang summit ay bahagi ng mas malawak na pagsisikap na maghatid ng accurate, timely, at responsible public information sa gitna ng hamon ng digital space.
