La construction de l'autoroute Batu-Negelle Arsi atteint 99 % d'avancement

L'autoroute Batu-Negelle Arsi, partie du projet de développement Moyo Hawassa, est construite pour un coût de 5 milliards 39 millions de birr et a atteint 99 % d'avancement. Ce projet fait partie de l'autoroute transnationale internationale Addis-Abeba-Moyo-Moyale-Lamu-Mombasa.

Addis-Abeba, 5 mars 2026 (FBC) – L'Autorité éthiopienne des routes a déclaré que l'autoroute Batu-Negelle Arsi, partie 3 du projet de développement Moyo Hawassa, progresse dans sa construction. Selon l'ingénieur Defaru Derese, chef du département des projets de construction Moyo Hawassa à l'autorité, le projet est construit pour un coût de 5 milliards 39 millions de birr et a atteint 99 % d'avancement. La route mesure 57 kilomètres 4 mètres de longueur et 31 mètres 6 centimètres de largeur. Le financement du projet provient de la Banque mondiale, la construction étant assurée par la China Communication Construction Company. Cette initiative vise à diviser par deux les temps de trajet et constitue un tronçon de l'autoroute transnationale internationale Addis-Abeba-Moyo-Moyale-Lamu-Mombasa. De plus, elle fait partie du Corridor de l'Afrique de l'Est de 10 000 kilomètres. Le projet devrait apporter des bénéfices importants pour le développement économique et social de la région. En particulier, en réduisant les coûts de transport, il créera des opportunités pour la croissance du tourisme.
