Le conseil des ministres ordonne au DCI d'enquêter sur une fraude salariale de 6,2 milliards de KSh

Le gouvernement kényan a chargé la Direction des enquêtes criminelles (DCI) d'examiner des irrégularités présumées totalisant 6,2 milliards de KSh dans la masse salariale publique. L'ordre a été donné lors d'une réunion présidée par le président William Ruto le 30 juin.

La directive vise la manipulation des systèmes de paie, les modifications non autorisées des registres et les paiements irréguliers au sein des ministères, départements, agences et sociétés d'État. Un audit partiel portant sur 12 des 53 départements d'État a révélé ces 6,2 milliards de KSh d'irrégularités présumées, incluant des contrôles défaillants sur les retenues statutaires.

Le compte rendu du conseil des ministres a chargé le DCI de vérifier les numéros de matricule dans le traitement des salaires, de démanteler les réseaux criminels, de recouvrer les fonds publics perdus et d'arrêter les responsables. Il a également appelé à des poursuites immédiates conformément à la loi.

Parallèlement, le conseil des ministres a ordonné un audit national des institutions restantes et la migration de toutes les entités gouvernementales vers le système intégré de ressources humaines et de paie remanié, afin de renforcer la surveillance.
