Les parents de la « maison des horreurs » d'Oviedo condamnés à deux ans et dix mois de prison

Le tribunal provincial des Asturies a condamné lundi Christian Steffen et Melissa Ann Steffen à deux ans et dix mois de prison pour violence psychologique habituelle et délaissement de famille. Ces parents d'origine allemande ont maintenu leurs trois enfants isolés pendant près de quatre ans dans une maison située à Fitoria.

Le tribunal a acquitté le couple du chef de séquestration. Chaque parent purgera deux ans et quatre mois pour violence psychologique et six mois pour délaissement. Ils sont également déchus de leur autorité parentale pour une durée de trois ans et quatre mois et devront indemniser chaque enfant à hauteur de 30 000 euros.Les faits remontent au 28 avril 2025, lorsque la police locale a secouru les jumeaux de huit ans et l'enfant de dix ans dans la « maison rose » d'Oviedo. Les enfants, qui vivaient en couches et n'étaient pas scolarisés, ont montré leur étonnement en découvrant le jardin et en touchant de l'herbe pour la première fois.La sentence, notifiée ce jour, rejette l'argument des parents selon lequel l'isolement visait à protéger les enfants du covid. Les mineurs restent pris en charge dans un centre du gouvernement de la Principauté des Asturies, où ils évoluent favorablement selon les autorités.
