Fiorenzato unveils Adapt grinder ahead of US debut

Fiorenzato has introduced the Adapt grinder, featuring recipe-based grind suggestions and real-time monitoring to aid baristas. The new model, which integrates with all espresso machines and flow meters, will debut at World of Coffee San Diego. Company representative Nicholas Benaglia highlighted its role in enhancing precision and consistency.

Nicholas Benaglia, Sales Area Manager for the UK, Northern, Central, and South America at Fiorenzato, stated that coffee grinders are now matching or surpassing espresso machine innovation. “If coffee is not ground correctly, the final result will inevitably suffer,” he said. The Adapt grinder supports baristas with targeted grind settings based on recipes, visual statistics for extraction parameters, and on-screen prompts to reduce errors. It saves multiple recipes and monitors variables like humidity and burr wear, suggesting adjustments after three incorrect shots to keep baristas engaged and learning in real time. Fiorenzato designed Adapt for universal compatibility. “We wanted it to be a truly universal product. Different businesses have different needs, machines, and approaches,” Benaglia explained. The grinder will appear at booth 844 during World of Coffee San Diego. Additional advancements include the RSG adjustment ring, with each click delivering an 8-micron change, and the Encoder for 4-micron precision burr tracking, reducing waste. These features, available on various Fiorenzato models, address demands for greater control amid evolving barista needs. Benaglia noted concerns over automation marginalizing baristas but emphasized Adapt's balance of support and involvement. The developments signal grinders evolving into data-driven tools, with potential for future AI optimisation.
