韓国の李在明大統領は7月24日、サンフランシスコでAnthropicのダリオ・アモデイCEOと会談し、韓国のAI分野への支援を要請した。
この会談は、グローバルテック企業とのAI投資や協力を推進するためにサンフランシスコを2日間の日程で訪問した李氏の初日に行われた。
李氏はアモデイ氏に対し、世界的に著名な人物と会うことができて嬉しく、韓国でもアモデイ氏の知名度は高いと伝えた。また、韓国はAI投資を大幅に拡大する計画であり、Anthropicからの格別な関心と投資、貢献を期待していると述べた。
アモデイ氏は李氏に感謝の意を表し、韓国政府がAIを重視している点に触れた上で、データセンターを含む韓国との広範な協力に期待を寄せた。Anthropicと韓国科学技術情報通信部は、AIの安全性とサイバー産業における協力に関する覚書（MOU）を締結する予定である。
李氏は同日後半に、OpenAIのサム・アルトマンCEOおよびNvidiaのジェンスン・フアンCEOとも会談する予定となっていた。
