이재명 대통령이 7월 24일 샌프란시스코에서 앤트로픽의 다리오 아모데이 최고경영자를 만나 한국 AI 분야에 대한 관심과 투자를 요청했다.
회담은 이 대통령의 이틀간 샌프란시스코 방문 첫날에 열렸다. 이 방문은 글로벌 기술 기업들과의 AI 투자 및 협력을 촉진하기 위한 것이었다.
이 대통령은 아모데이에게 "세계적으로 유명한 분을 만나 매우 기쁘다"고 말하며 한국의 AI 투자 확대 계획을 설명했다. 그는 앤트로픽의 특별한 관심과 기여를 기대한다고 덧붙였다.
아모데이는 한국 정부의 AI 우선 순위를 언급하며 다양한 분야에서 협력할 것으로 기대한다고 답했다. 특히 데이터 센터를 포함한 영역에서 협력을 희망했다. 앤트로픽과 한국 과학기술정보통신부는 AI 보안 및 사이버 산업 협력에 관한 양해각서를 체결할 예정이다.
이 대통령은 같은 날 오픈AI의 샘 올트먼 최고경영자와 엔비디아의 젠슨 황 최고경영자를 만날 계획이었다.
