전날 세르지오 마타렐라 대통령과 회담에서는 양국 관계를 특별 전략적 동반자 관계로 격상하고 반도체와 인공지능 등 분야에서 협력을 확대하기로 했다. 또한 첨단 과학 기술과 아프리카 공동 프로젝트를 위한 양해각서 4건에 서명했다.
이 대통령은 비즈니스 라운드테이블에서 이탈리아와 한국이 최적의 비즈니스 파트너라고 강조했다. 삼성전자 이재용 회장 등 양국 기업인 30개사가 참석해 AI와 에너지 분야 협력을 논의했다.
