Valve begins Steam Machine sales emails on June 25

Valve will start sending purchase invitations today for its new Steam Machine console-like devices priced above $1,000.

The company has not yet made the devices available or shipped any units. Starting June 25, selected people who pre-registered will receive emails allowing them to buy one of four bundles.

Registration closed at 10 a.m. PST on June 25 after a randomization of the list. Those not selected immediately go to a waiting list for possible future access.

Available options include the Steam Machine 512GB at $1,049, the 512GB bundle with controller at $1,128, the 2TB model at $1,349, and the 2TB bundle with controller at $1,428.

Buyers must have a Steam account in good standing with a prior purchase before April 27. Limited stock due to RAM shortages means most registrants will not receive an immediate purchase opportunity.
