Womack Sisters release new single ahead of debut album

The Womack Sisters have released their new single "If I Let You" as they prepare for the August launch of their debut album on Daptone Records.

The trio, consisting of Zeimani, Kucha, and BG Womack, are the granddaughters of Sam Cooke and nieces of Bobby Womack. Their self-titled album is scheduled for release on August 14.

The new track features textured harmonies and vintage arrangements. It begins with a driving organ and offers a meditation on rushing into love.

Kucha Womack said in a statement that the song reminds her of a time when she rushed into love because of attraction. She added that it serves as a reminder to take time to find love and learn who one is really dealing with.

The group, based in Los Angeles, previously released the EP Legacy in 2022. On the night of the album release they will perform at the Hollywood Bowl opening for Al Green.
