Chipotle to open first unit in Mexico on July 16

Alsea will open Mexico's first Chipotle location on July 16 at Plaza Fiesta San Agustín in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León.

The operator, led by Christian Gurría, will handle the brand's growth and expansion in the country. Chipotle has more than 4,100 restaurants worldwide and prepares its ingredients on the spot without artificial additives.

The opening comes in a healthy fast-food market valued at 1.3 billion dollars, which is growing 11 to 12 percent annually. It marks a step in Alsea's portfolio diversification strategy across Latin America and Europe.

The menu is based on fresh ingredients prepared at the moment, according to the brand's description.
