Halo: Campaign Evolved launched in paid early access on July 23 but many players could not access the game due to server problems. Microsoft and Halo Studios worked to resolve the issues throughout the day. The full release remains scheduled for July 28.
Players who bought the $70 Premium Edition or the $20 Premium Upgrade encountered login failures and server outages on Xbox consoles and the Xbox app for PC. Some Steam users also reported boot problems that were fixed more quickly.
Microsoft stated it was investigating reports of players unable to access the game and later confirmed the Xbox service connection issue had been mitigated. Halo Studios added that Premium Upgrade buyers locked out should now be able to play after clearing cache and restarting.
Fans voiced frustration online, noting they had adjusted work schedules for the early access period. The game is available on Xbox, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
