Cooking oil and beef prices rise in Indonesia

Bank Indonesia through the National Strategic Food Price Information Center reports a Rp50 per liter increase in bulk cooking oil prices to Rp19.100 per liter. Beef prices for quality I rose Rp100 per kg to Rp144.500 per kg, while quality II increased Rp250 per kg to Rp136.850 per kg. For beef, quality I reached Rp144.500 per kg with a Rp100 per kg increase, while quality II stood at Rp136.850 per kg, up Rp250 per kg. Chicken meat prices remained stable at Rp37.900 per kg. Red onions were Rp47.650 per kg, red cayenne peppers Rp68.550 per kg, and garlic Rp43.600 per kg.

Rice prices varied: lower quality I at Rp14.600 per kg, lower quality II at Rp14.500 per kg, medium I at Rp15.750 per kg, medium II at Rp15.850 per kg, super I at Rp17.150 per kg, and super II at Rp16.900 per kg. Large red chilies were Rp40.200 per kg, curly red chilies Rp40.350 per kg, and green cayenne peppers Rp37.850 per kg.

Other commodities included premium white sugar at Rp22.000 per kg, local white sugar at Rp19.200 per kg, and chicken eggs at Rp33.900 per kg. The data comes from national monitoring to track food price stability ahead of the approaching Ramadan season. BI emphasizes the need for oversight to ensure availability and affordable prices for the public.
